Gold Coast - Mobile Billboards for a City That Never Sits Still

The Gold Coast has one of the most unusual advertising landscapes in Australia.
Half the population at any given time is visiting, not living there. The events calendar runs almost year-round the Gold Coast Marathon in July, Blues on Broadbeach in May, the Pacific Airshow in August, Cooly Rocks On in June, the Gold Coast 500 in October. Each one pulls tens of thousands of people into specific precincts for a few days, then they leave.
A 28-day billboard booking makes no sense here. The audience that matters to most campaigns is there for a weekend.
The Mobile Billboard Company runs trailer billboard campaigns on the Gold Coast for as short as a single day. You book the window that matches your event, your launch, or your promotion, not the window the media owner needs to make the numbers work.
The Gold Coast Is Longer Than Most People Realise
Surfers Paradise to Coolangatta is 27 kilometres. Add Hope Island and Coomera at the northern end, and the city stretches over 50 kilometres of coastline.
Fixed billboard advertising picks one point along that stretch. A retail business in Burleigh Heads gets no value from a site in Southport. A developer launching in Coomera reaches the wrong audience entirely from a billboard near Coolangatta.
Mobile billboard advertising works differently the trailer goes to whatever part of the Gold Coast your campaign actually needs. Broadbeach for an event. Burleigh Heads for a retail opening. The M1 corridor for a development launch in the northern growth suburbs.
Where We Run Campaigns on the Gold Coast
Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach
The two busiest precincts on the Gold Coast for events and foot traffic. Blues on Broadbeach, SeaFire, and Groundwater Country Music Festival all bring massive crowds through Broadbeach. Pacific Airshow and the Gold Coast 500 fill Surfers Paradise. Campaigns timed around these events reach audiences that are already out, engaged, and moving through the streets.
Burleigh Heads and Miami
The southern suburbs where the local Gold Coast population actually lives. Burleigh Hill draws big crowds for surf events including the Gold Coast Open. Miami hosts the annual Surface Street Art Festival each July. Different audience from Surfers more local, more residential, more repeat.
Coolangatta and Southern Corridor
The border town between Queensland and New South Wales. Cooly Rocks On brings 30,000 people to Coolangatta each June. The Coolangatta Gold ironman event, held annually at Currumbin Beach, pulls a fitness and endurance audience. Campaigns here reach both Queenslanders and northern NSW audiences in the same placement.
Southport and Nerang
The commercial and administrative centre of the Gold Coast. Cbus Super Stadium in Robina sits nearby Women's State of Origin 2026 is there in May. The Gold Coast SUNS play regularly at People First Stadium. The northern suburbs proper Hope Island, Coomera, Pimpama are among the fastest-growing residential areas in Queensland.
Pacific Motorway Corridor
The M1 is the main artery connecting Brisbane to the Gold Coast. Campaigns running along this corridor reach both the Gold Coast local audience and the significant Brisbane day-tripper market that uses the M1 every weekend.
Why the Event Calendar Changes Everything
Most outdoor advertising is bought months in advance for locations that stay fixed regardless of what is happening around them.
The Gold Coast does not work like that. Blues on Broadbeach transforms Broadbeach into an outdoor live music venue each May, with a different audience on those streets than on any other weekend. Cooly Rocks On brings 900 classic cars and rockabilly crowds to Coolangatta each June. The Pacific Airshow runs above the Surfers Paradise beachfront each August, with thousands watching from the beach and the esplanade.
A mobile billboard positioned at any of these events reaches a concentration of people that no fixed site nearby can match because a fixed site does not know the event is happening, and a mobile trailer does.
For event organisers, sponsors, and businesses wanting to reach people already in a spending mindset, timing a campaign around the Gold Coast events calendar is one of the most efficient uses of outdoor advertising available anywhere in Australia.
The Formats Available on the Gold Coast
Static trailer billboards are double-sided and park at your chosen location. For a weekend event campaign in Broadbeach or a retail promotion in Burleigh, this is the most straightforward option artwork goes up, trailer parks, campaign runs. Live within 24 to 48 hours of artwork approval.
Digital LED billboards display full colour video or rotating creatives and update remotely without any reprinting. On the Gold Coast, where campaigns often run around events and promotions that change day to day, the ability to push a new creative remotely is genuinely useful. Details on our LED billboard hire page.
Park and Drive campaigns send the trailer along a planned route rather than holding one location. For campaigns that need to cover the length of the Gold Coast from Hope Island to Coolangatta in a single day, this is how it is done. See our Park and Drive page for details.
Full specifications and artwork dimensions are on our trailer advertising page.
What to Think About Before You Book
The Gold Coast has two distinct audiences and they do not always overlap.
The tourist and event audience concentrates in Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, and Coolangatta and moves with the events calendar. They are on the coast for a reason, spending money, and receptive to advertising in that environment.
The local residential audience lives in Burleigh, Miami, Robina, Mudgeeraba, and the northern growth corridors. They are not on holiday. They commute, shop locally, and make decisions like residents of any other Australian city.
A campaign aimed at visitors during Blues on Broadbeach needs a very different placement from a campaign aimed at Robina residents looking at a new development nearby. Getting that distinction right matters more on the Gold Coast than almost anywhere else in Australia.
When you contact us, tell us which audience you are trying to reach the tourist crowd or the local one and we will suggest the placement that makes sense.
